I do several crafts. In the past couple of years, my portable crafts have been chain mail, spinning yarn and, always, knitting.

I can no longer bring my chain mail to kid activities … there’s always a younger sibling who thinks the shiny metal rings are fascinating, and wants to take them and play. I even had one girl try to pull my work right out of my hands!

I’m not yet good enough at using a drop spindle to spin in public, but I know something similar would happen.

So I knit. Last winter I was making new mittens for my son. I attracted the usual crowd of kids, but they knew enough about knitting to not touch my work. [Did the double pointed needles scare them?] They asked polite questions and watched, silently.

This year, when practice started up again for my kids, I didn’t even think “which craft”. I’m knitting a brioche stitch tank top.

I found some great Victorian-era biological prints that I cleaned up and placed on different products. I wasn't sure to put them in Beasts or Steampunk. Visit Product Page ...

I love the graphic quality of this ... a rainbow with each color written in its hex code. Other products use the same raw image, rotated and scaled in different ways. Visit Product Page ...
