My daughter, Ket Waters (stage name) is a musician, playing Celtic fiddle. I have heard from others she is very talented (I’ve always thought so, but then, I’m her mom). She is planning to go to a music school for college, possibly Berklee.
Her fiddle teacher has agreed with her plan to put together an EP this summer of 5 tracks, some of which she has written and some by Trad Arr (Traditional Arrangement). The EP will be titled High Strung, and Polymath Solution will be designing the cover. She’ll need starter money, so she put up a Kickstarter campaign.
Ket Waters’ Kickstarter Project (opens in new window)
Many artists and musicians use Kickstarter as a way of getting money for projects. People give money to a specific project, in whatever amount they choose, and if the artist gets as much or more than they ask for, the project gets funded. [If not, you get your money back.] Often artists give out bonuses for specific donation amounts.
Ket is giving bonuses:
- $1.00 – $9.99 An mp3 of the first recorded track from the EP
- $10.00 – $24.99 Signed copy of the EP
- $25.00 – $49.99 A chain mail bracelet made by Ket
- $50.00 – $99.99 A signed EP and a bracelet
- $100.00 – $249.99 A signed EP and credit in the liner notes
- $250.00 and up A 1 hour private concert next time Ket is in your city.
